Hey there! I’m Rachel.
Coffee nut. Boy mama. Homebody. LEO wife. Christ follower. Iowa born and raised. Wisconsinite. Hogwarts class of 2008.
I started Rachel Ricklefs Photography four years ago, after becoming a mama to my first born, Gunnar. Photography has always been a love of mine, even back in the days of summer camp with brick-shaped, black and orange Kodak disposable cameras I couldn’t get enough of! The dream of owning my own business lived in the back of my mind for years while I pursued other interests, leaving After struggling during the first few months of motherhood feeling like I had lost the “me” I used to be, it was clear now was the time to pursue this dream. I wanted my children to grow up seeing their mama pursue her passions, hoping one day they might have courage to chase their own.
I never imagined this hobby would grow into the amazing opportunity it is today! Befriending like-minded clients, shooting in incredible locations, and connecting with other talented creatives and business owners has been an unforgettable experience that I’m so darn grateful for!
My heart for MARRIAGE is truly at the center of what I do. A couple’s wedding day is a beautiful testament of their commitment to stand by, protect, pursue, forgive, love and nurture one another for a lifetime. A strong and devoted marriage is truly one of the sweetest gifts.. It takes work (lots of it!), but is so SO worth it. With all that said, it’s pretty obvious I love love love weddings! They are the ultimate kick off to one of the greatest adventures in life!
One any given day, you might find me dreaming up my next home project (and recruiting Aaron to do all the heavy lifting), snuggling with my sassy pup Zoey, doing crossword puzzles (cause they’re the bomb), making chocolate chip cookies just so I can eat the dough, attempting to stay away from Target in order to keep my budget in check (it’s hard), or re-listening to all the Harry Potter audio books (shout out to my fellow Ravenclaws!). I’m an old soul, a homebody who loves adventure, wifey to my hero, a girl trying to figure this whole mom-thing out, always in pursuit of finding beauty in the ordinary, and keenly aware of my desperate need for Jesus.
